Labor Day

Well we started Labor Day weekend off with a trip to the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and the warm sand. Hopefully tomorrow I can talk Reuben into going to the Des Moines's Farmers Market. We've been told its huge and more like a carnival then a farmers market.

Apple Thief

A couple days ago I gave Isaac a bite of my apple. He thought he was pretty cool that he could bite the apple all by himself. Last night when I got an apple out to eat he didn't just want to take a bite he wanted the whole apple! A few times he would give Reuben a bite but I had to go find something else to eat.

Babysitting

Last week Reuben and I played daycare for a few days. On Monday we babysat Olia Green. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we babysat Warren Dix, and we also babysat Eli Lasley on Wednesday. Isaac did really good sharing his house with so many other little people. We had a full house and lots of fun. Sorry we only got pictures of Warren and Isaac.

Home Improvements

Yea I finally talked Reuben into letting us do a few things to our lovely home. We put river rock in our flower beds and put up a new door!

Exploring the Back Yard

Isaac loves to play outside and explore all the rocks, sticks and grass. If he is having a bad day all we have to do is go outside and he is the happiest boy, until you make him spit out all the rocks that he tries to eat. I don't know what we are going to do when it gets cold.

So I finally took the blog test and all I can say is WOW! I didn't think that I was that bad! Reuben said he was surprised that it wasn't higher. So what can I say I am addicted to blogging.

Hair Cut Number 3

We finally cut Isaac's hair! It was getting so long and with all this humidity it was starting to go curly. I thought the curls were cute but it is just too hot for him to have all that hair. So the curls are gone and now he looks all grown up.

Fun in the Kitchen

This has become Isaac's favorite new game. He takes every thing out of the oven drawer and then climbs in and out. It was really cute at the beginning but now I wish I had my lids and pans in the drawer and my son out of the drawer.

Trip to the State Fair

This week we went to the Iowa State Fair with our new friends Jason and Kim Stoddard. It was a overcast day so we thought it would be a bit cooler but wow were we wrong! Between the heat and humidity we were all thoroughly drenched with sweat the entire day, but we had tons of fun seeing the cool sites of the fair.

A New Way to Play

Isaac used to love playing in his excer saucer but when he began crawling and then walking he enjoyed it less and less. He enjoys his new found freedom and doesn't want to be trapped in a chair. So I decided to put the toy away but it never made it to the closet. A few days ago Isaac discovered a new way of playing with his toy. He now loves to crawl in and out or he just sits and relaxes.

Super Baby

Isaac and I were over at the Lasley's hanging out with Eli and Melissa when Isaac came into the kitchen with this red scarf around his shoulders. We thought he looked kinda cute with his cape and decided to give Eli one and take a few pictures.

Back Yard Fun

Since being in Iowa Reuben and I have turned into quite the scavengers. Our neighbors had set out a few old patio chairs for the garbage men and Reuben and I decided to take a look. They were in great shape so we took them home with us. They needed to be cleaned off so Reuben broke out the hose to give them a good spray down when Isaac decided he wanted to play in the water too. So we hooked up the sprinkler so he could play in the water, but Isaac being quit the boy had other plans. He didn't just want to play in the water he also wanted to play in the mud, eat rocks and he found stick that he packed around with him the whole time he was outside! Reuben was very proud that his son was doing boy things. Boys play in mud, boys eat rocks, and especially boys play with sticks.

Day at the Water Park

The last couple of days have been so hot and humid that we couldn't resist the water park any longer! Isaac loves playing in the water and the water park is like a dream come true for him. He walks around the place like its his own back yard.
