First Snow

We woke up Sunday morning to a beautiful sight of fresh white snow. Isaac was super excited and wanted to go outside and make a snow man. We told him he would have to wait until we got home from church. During sacrament Isaac climbed into my lap and said "go home mom?" I asked him why he wanted to go home and this is what he said " make snowman mom!" He was a patient boy and made it all the way through church a nap and lunch, but that was all he could take. So we bundled him up and out he went to make a snowman. Reuben stayed inside with Isabella while I went to help Isaac with his snowman. We had tons of fun and enjoyed making our little snowman.

Bear Family

Isaac was playing in our bedroom and came running to get us to show us what he had made. We came upstairs and this is what we found. According to Isaac if we were turned into bears this is what we would look like if we all slept in the same bed. He pointed to each bear and told us which one we were. He even got the colors right. Reuben was the dark bear I was the light one and him and Isabella were snuggling together in the middle. And if you notice Reuben has all the covers, which is also correct. It was so cute and Isaac even wanted us to turn the lights off. We forgot all about the bears until it was bed time and it was a nice surprise to see our happy bear family all tucked in bed.

Sitting Up

Isabella is a sit up kinda girl. She likes to be able to see whats going on around her. She cant sit up by herself very well but with a boppy or a few pillows she does pretty good. And she sure thinks she is hot stuff when she is sitting up playing with her toys.

Hard Workin Man

This is how Reuben spent his Saturday! First him and Isaac raked the leaves and mowed the lawn. Then Reuben cleaned out our gutters. I thought he was a bit crazy to climb up on our awning just to get some leaves but it worked and he didn't break anything so I guess it was okay. Then he tore out our cracked tile and began prepping for our new flooring. Sorry I wasn't quick enough with the camera and didn't get a picture before he tore the old tile out. We didn't get it done so another post to come with more pictures and the finished product. I love it when Reuben has such productive days!

No Nap

This is what happens when Isaac decides not to take a nap! He crashed around 5pm on my lap and did not want to wake up. So I enjoyed the snuggle time and we both took a short nap together.

Sleeping Habits

Some days getting Isaac to take a nap can be a bit challenging! He's tired and needs a nap but all the toys in his bedroom can be quite tempting to a 2 year old and some days he just won't stay in his bed long enough to fall asleep. This is what I found when I went in to check on him. He had climbed out of bed to get a toy and ended up falling asleep on the floor. With his sharp tooth still in his hand!

Leaf Turkeys

Our craft of the week was so much fun! Isaac enjoyed picking out his own leaves. I couldn't believe how opinionated he was. He knew exactly which ones he wanted and didn't want. He also really enjoyed the glue gun. I would hold it and direct the glue while Isaac squeezed the trigger. He would then pick what leaf he wanted and mush it on to his plate. I also let him use the scissors for the first time to cut out our turkey body. I think he did a really good job, with help from mommy. He then finished them of with a little coloring and we hung them up in his bedroom.

Napping Together

I was putting Isaac down for his nap yesterday and he asked if I would read him a book. Well I couldn't hold Isabella and turn the pages so I tucked her in bed with Isaac and read to both of them. Isaac thought it was great that Isabella was going to take a nap with him. He was a little sad when the book was over and Isabella had to leave. If you cant tell he really likes his sister and his sharp tooth!

Family Pictures

These pictures were taken in our front yard again by our friend Jessica. The leaves had turned bright red and yellow and looked wonderful. I could not resist having our pictures taken one last time in our beautiful fall leaves before we sell our house and move to Seattle.

Fourth File Fourth Picture

I saw this tag on one of my friend's blogs and thought it might be fun to do. You just open up your pictures file and pick the 4th file and then the 4th picture and then explain it!

This is Isaac at one day old in the North Carolina, Wakemed Hospital. Looking at this picture I am so amazed that this tiny baby is my busy boy! So much was going in in our lives at this moment. We were living in North Carolina, trying to buy a house in Iowa, moving all our possessions from Idaho to Iowa. Reuben was starting his first year of Law School in less then a month and we had just had a baby! You would think we would be going crazy but when I look at this picture all I remember is an overwhelming sense of peace. Looking at my precious new baby sound asleep nothing else seemed to matter. We still have a ton going on in our lives, trying to sell our house in Iowa so we can move to Seattle and buy another house. Reuben finishing his last year of Law School and we just had another baby! But when I look at my precious children I still feel so much peace and for a moment none of that crazy stuff matters!
