Halloween

Our Halloween started off with some pumpkin carving. Isaac wanted nothing to do with the pumpkins and wouldn't even touch the seeds and stuff inside. So Reuben and I ended up carving them while the kids took a nap. After the pumpkins were done I cleaned and cooked the pumpkin seeds. I LOVE pumpkins seeds and would have ate the whole pan if Reuben hadn't put them away for me! Next we handed out candy to trick or treaters while we got the kids into their Halloween costumes. This year Isaac was a dinosaur, surprise surprise. He is in love with dinosaurs right now and even insisted he take his sharp tooth with him trick or treating. Isabella was a ballerina and looked so cute in her tutu!! She really enjoyed the texture of her tutu and wanted to suck on it all night. After trick or treating we went over to the Stokers for some yummy food and a few crazy games of Catch Phrase. Tomorrow is our ward Halloween party so their will be more Halloween pictures of the kids playing and in their costumes.

Craft of the Week

To help Isaac with his numbers we decided to decorate his room. He does really well with counting from one to ten but always leaves out six and seven so I thought some visual stimulus would help him remember the middle numbers. It was a fun quick craft and Isaac like helping with the tape the most. We will see how well this helps him with the missing middle numbers.

I promised Isaac I would take a picture of his dinosaur (sharp tooth) if he would hold still for me so I could take a picture of him and his numbers. It worked!

Pop up Tent

Just a few pictures of Isaac being silly in his pop up tent. We were playing hide and seek when I decided to surprise Isaac with the camera when I found him hiding in his tent. He thought this was fun and played along while I took some pictures of him.

Holding Her Head Up

Isabella is growing and learning so much and way to fast. Everyday she surprises me with something new. She loves to babble and squeal especially at Reuben and when Isaac is in the bath she likes to watch and laughs when he splashes the water. She is also getting really good at holding her head up and playing with her toys.

Making Dinner

Reuben decided to make breakfast for dinner and Isaac wanted to help. Reuben had him tear the paper off the biscuit can so he could see it pop open and then Isaac helped place them on the tray. Reuben also tried to teach Isaac how to crack open an egg. He did really good if Reuben cracked the egg first and then let Isaac help him open it. His favorite part was mixing the milk and eggs together which he didnt want to stop. He also enjoyed writing our names on each biscuit. We thought this would encourage him to maybe eat the biscuit that had his name on it but it didnt.

Pumpkin Paper Plate

During Isabella's morning nap Isaac and I decided we should do a Halloween craft. I found this cute pumpkin paper plate idea and we spent the morning painting and coloring and then turned our pumpkin paper plates into a Halloween mask. Isaac really enjoyed making his Halloween mask and playing with his paints.

Mommys Socks

This morning was a bit cold so I put some socks on and Isaac decided that he also needed to wear some sock but he didnt want to wear his sock he wanted to wear my socks and he wanted to wear them over his pj's. Even after I got him dress for the day he still wanted to wear my sock and he kept them on all day.

Corn Pit

On Saturday we headed to Nauvoo to attend the temple, take some pictures of Isabella in her blessing dress, (pictures to come later) and visit Kathy's Pumpkin Patch. We had a wonderful time at the temple. Isabella was great for the babysitter and a happy girl for her photo shoot and Isaac had a blast playing at the pumpkin patch. They had a huge corn pit that the kids can play in and Isaac loved it! Reuben had to climb in and drag him out when it was time to leave. Over all it was a wonderful day in Nauvoo.

Pumpkins

We took advantage of our beautiful weather and decided to go to the pumpkin patch and pick out our pumpkins but when we got their we were really disappointed to find that our favorite pumpkin patch didnt plant any pumpkins this year. So we headed over to the apple orchard for some yummy apple turnovers and to see if they had any pumpkins. We were in luck and found some great pumpkins. Isaac enjoyed running around, throwing staw and picking out his pumpkin.

New Trick

This morning we were at a friends house hanging out and I noticed Isabella was trying to grab one of the baby toys I had set by her to look at. So when we got home I decided to see if she could grab and hold on to a toy. Well to my surprise she could hold the toy very well and not just hold it but shake it and of course put in in her mouth to chew on. For some reason this development took me by surprise! It seemed like it took ages before Isaac could play with toys. Time is going by to fast and Isaac and Isabella are growing up way too fast.

Free Stuff

One reason why we love Coralville is because of Mayors Garbage Day. Every 6 months Coralville lets you set anything you want to get rid of out by the curb and the garbage men will come and take all your junk away! So instead of hauling our junk to the dump I just wait for this wonderful day to come and have the city do it for me. Another plus to this wonderful event is that one man's garbage is anothers man's treasure! So the day before everything gets hauled off we went for a nice family walk around the neiborhood to see what people were getting rid of. And this is what we found! A basketball hoop and golf clubs for Isaac!!

Rainy Days

What do you do with a 2 year old when it rains outside? We played with paints! Isaac loves to play with his paint and thought it was fun to paint indoors. We started out with handprints on paper then moved to handprints on our tummy and ended all covered in paints and needing a bath.
