Blessing Dress

I wanted to do something special for Isabella's blessing dress. I have a wonderful friend who's aunt sewed her little girls blessing dress and it was beautiful so I decided to have her make me one too. When I was telling my mom, she had an even better idea and offered her wedding dress as fabric for Isabella's blessing dress. Well I have a sister and a sister-in-law and we didnt want to leave anyone out so we had three dresses made out of my moms wedding dress. They are all beautiful and I cant wait to bless Isabella.

Happy Birthday to Isaac

Sunday was Isaac's birthday!! We officially have a 2 year old. Its kinda crazy to think that he is not a baby anymore. Compared to Isabella he is huge and very obvious that he hasnt been a baby for a long time but I never really noticed how grown up my little boy was until Isabella. We had a very low key birthday with presents wrapped in brown paper bags and a simple jello cake with cherries on top in the shape of a 2. For once Isaac really enjoyed his new toys and not just the boxes they came in.

First Bath

Isabella is the biggest poop machine I have ever seen! So it was defiantly time for her first bath! I don't know if most babies like having bath but Isabella loved hers! She didn't cry at all and was very relaxed through the whole thing.

Life with a new Baby

So far so good! Isaac took a few days to adjust but is now doing very well with his little sister. Sometimes too well, after we let him hold her for the first time he now thinks he can pick her up and hold her anytime. He also loves to rub her head and give her kisses. Today was my first day at home by myself with both kids and everything went great! A little more sleep and having two kids is going to be easier then I expected. Good thing I have such a wonderful little boy and a very mellow baby.

One of the secretaries at Reubens work gave him a box of chocolates in congratulations for having a baby. Isaac really enjoyed the chocolate, which is unusual for him because he normally doesn't like sweets.

Baby Isabella

Isabella Lynn Ortega
Born July 12th
Weighed 7 pounds 9 oz.
Length was 19.5 inches long

Contractions started around 10:30 Friday night, we waited about an hour to make sure my contractions continued. We were admitted into triage with contraction about 7 min. apart. I was dialated to a 4 when my water broke in triage at 12:40. After being admitted into the hospital my contractions slowed and were irregular. Which made us think that delivery might not go as fast as I was expecting it to, but things quickly picked up. After about 2 hours of contractions I was dilated to a 9 and just waiting. A few pushes later Isabella was born at 3:40 am. Arriving 11 days early!

Water Fountain

For our ward play group we went to the International Fountain, which is a big bowl with a giant sliver ball in the middle that sprays water. Isaac liked to watch the fountain but didn't want to go down and play in the water. So we had a nice picnic on the grass watching the water show. After lunch we walked over to another fountain which was more Isaac's size and let all the kids play in the water until it was time to go.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th to everyone!!! We hope everyone enjoyed good food, good company, and some wonderful fireworks. We miss not being at home with family but have met so many wonderful people in Seattle that its hard not to have a good time. We enjoyed a relaxing day, Reuben play Rugby in the morning and then after a nap for everyone we headed off for a BBQ. After eating too much food it was time for fireworks. We had a great view from a friends house and were able to see fireworks from Lake Union and Puget Sound.

Ferry Ride

Last minute after Reuben came home from work we decided to go and ride the ferry over to Bainbridge Island and find a place to eat dinner. The ferry ride was really fun and has the best view of everything. Isaac enjoyed running around and watching the water. It was such a clear day that we could see all of Mt. Rainier. Once on the island we walked to the nearest town and did some window shopping while trying to find something to eat. We ended up eating at a really fancy place called Cafe Nola, Reuben ordered Goat Cheese Ravioli and I had the Halibut and Isaac had the children's Spaghetti. Everything was wonderful and way fancier then I had ever had. Once we were done with dinner we realized that we might miss our ferry ride back so we took off as fast as a 9month pregnant woman could go. We made our ferry ride but I thought I was going to die! No pregnant women should have to walk that fast that long just to catch a boat! I really thought I was going to have the baby once I sat down for the ride home. But over all we had a wonderful time.

Weekend Fun

I finally talked Reuben into taking Isaac and I to the zoo on Saturday. We had lots of fun seeing the different animals. Isaac really enjoyed the Gorillas and the butterfly exhibit. The zoo really wore Isaac out, he fell asleep in his stroller before we even left the zoo.
